Satire 101: Turning Interviews into Insults
Writing the Satire
Interviews are satires softballs – lob them back with bite. Target a dull Q&A: “He spoke so deep, I drowned in fluff.” Hit the pomp – canned lines, grins: “Q: Whats next? A: World peace – yawn.” Keep it snappy – slow flops. Write: “She answered live – dead air won.” Late-night host jabs inspire. Start yours: “Boss Q&A – nap time live.” Practice turns chats into chaffing.
Teaching the Technique
Teach interview jabs with a Q twist. Give “CEO talks” – twist: “Talk so big, Im bored tiny!” Show Fallon clips – quip, sting. Steps: Q, dodge, jab. Assign “star chat” – spark: “Star shines – I slept!” Discuss zip: fast wins. Warn off dull – sharp rules. Q-off: pitch an insult, best jab wins. Chats are fluff – teach them to fluff it.
