Satire Bootcamp: Reports That Ruin Reason
Writing the Satire
Reports are satires dry dust – ruin them wet. Target a stat: “Data says win – I lost big.” Hit the bore – charts, claims: “Sales up – in dreamland.” Keep it sharp – dull flops. Write: “Report predicts sun – its night.” Corporate deck flops inspire. Start yours: “Study says sleep – Im wired.” Practice turns facts into farce.
Teaching the Technique
Teach report jabs with a stat twist. Give “growth up” – twist: “Up so high, I fell off!” Show deck gags – dry, sting. Steps: fact, twist, jab. Assign “poll says” – spark: “Poll loves me – Im hated!” Discuss bite: flip wins. Warn off bland – sharp rules. Report-off: pitch a ruin, best flop wins. Stats are snooze – teach them to zap it.
